Find A Healthcare Provider

Important Note About Medical Providers

In-network

A provider refers to anyone or organization providing healthcare. UnitedHealthcare has one of the largest networks of doctors, specialists, and hospitals in the United States.

While you can seek out medical care with any medical provider you wish, we recommend staying “in-network”. Medical providers that are in-network are contracted with UHC. The result is that your out-of-pocket costs ,such as deductibles and coinsurance rates, will be lower.

Out-of-network

Also, you if you go out-of-network your claims may be subject to “balance billing”. Balance billing refers to the difference between UHC’s contracted provider rates and that which an out-of-network provider charges.

Emergency Care – In an emergency seek care as quickly as possible. All emergency care is considered in-network irrespective if the provider is in or out-of-network.
